Luka Garza scored 24 points, and No. 20-ranked Iowa led wire-to-wire in its Big Ten Conference defeat of Ohio State, 85-76, Thursday in Iowa City, Iowa.
Garza added to his case for national player of the year honors from the outset, opening his balanced all-around night with an assist to Connor McCaffrey. When McCaffrey nailed the 3-pointer, Iowa (19-8, 10-6 Big Ten) was off to the races. Ryan Kriener scored 12 points, Joe Wieskamp added 13 and Bakari Evelyn chipped in 15 points off the bench.
Ohio State (17-9, 7-8), meanwhile, sputtered early offensively, shooting below 20 percent from behind the 3-point line for much of the night. A late barrage pulled the team's average to 30 percent, but the burst could not dig the Buckeyes from their hole.
E.J. Liddell came off the bench to record 17 points and eight rebounds for the Buckeyes, Duane Washington Jr. scored 15 points, and Kyle Young scored four of his eight points to pull Ohio State to within single-digits on two occasions.

Gonzaga (27-1, 13-0 West Coast Conference) won its 19th straight game and 40th consecutive regular-season conference game, but it wasn't easy.
Tillie, who has been bothered by an ankle injury and missed Gonzaga's last game, went 10-for-13 from the field and recorded nine rebounds before fouling out. Charles Minlend led the Dons with 22 points. Khalil Shabazz scored 13 points off the bench for San Francisco (17-11, 6-7).

Payton Pritchard had 16 of his 18 points and four 3-pointers in the second half before fouling out with 2:15 remaining. Will Richardson also had 18 points and Chris Duarte had 10 for the Ducks (20-7, 9-5), who dropped out of a first-place tie in the conference with Colorado.

Arizona's three freshman starters combined for 47 points and the Wildcats took advantage of the ejection of Beavers standout Tres Tinkle in a victory in Tucson, Ariz.
Josh Green led the way with 18 points for Arizona, which won its third in a row and avenged an 82-65 loss at Oregon State on Jan. 12. Nico Mannion added 16 points, and Zeke Nnaji contributed 13 for the Wildcats (19-7, 9-4 Pac-12).
