Notice how annoying different notifications from social pages and Telegram channels are. We receive them without stopping and get distracted. Preferably, the devices we use are supposed to help us reach the targets and increase efficiency. From this perspective, up-to-date technologies bring more adverse effects than positive - they take away our valued time and boost up our nervousness.
The investor and the Co-founder of an international IT company Rustam Gilfanov shares his thoughts on ways to start digital detoxing, generate work that is more profitable and makes life - more harmonious.
As Rustam Gilfanov mentions his cell phone, he admits he uses it for about 5 hours every day. This indicator is lower than the average figure worldwide - 6 hours and 42 minutes. He adds whilst the amount of quality time with best friends and family, with time spent in social sites lasts less than an hour, the period spent on his work tasks and self-education occupy most of his time.
In Rustam Gilfanov's opinion, a careless approach to your time on the smartphone is a direct way to lessen yield and increase your level of anxiety and difficulties in face-to-face communication and contact with people.
1. Mute your alerts
To work without distraction and concentrate during the day, mute all the unnecessary notifications and leave only those you need for your work.
2. Stay away from needless apps and channels
Find the apps you rarely use and remove them. Locate the remaining applications into folders so that you can effortlessly access them. Sign out from unwanted groups on social platforms that you usually overlook.
3. Make spending an hour with no cell phone your routine
Adjust airplane mode on your mobile phone, put it aside and allocate this time to your rest. Do some readings, cooking, spend quality time with your loved ones. Learn the value of time without a device. If you survive a no gadget policy, go for digital detox throughout the whole day on your weekends.
4. No gadgets before going to bed
Leave your device somewhere far for the night and set the alarm on your simple watch.
5. Look for companions amid your coworkers and mates
These people will listen to you, support you, and discuss your common accomplishments and difficulties.
Rustam Gilfanov claims that dependence on know-it-all technology will not be easy to quit, just like any deeply rooted habit. Therefore, it is logical to change your habits gradually when you are passing to a more harmonious lifestyle, and making efforts to depend on gadgets less. In Gilfanov's opinion, it is better to include limitations in turn. Soon, you will realize that you have stopped putting the blame on your cell phone for your sleeplessness or missing the last dates.
