Quentin Grimes led seven Philadelphia scorers in double-figures with 28 points, and the 76ers snapped a three-game losing skid with their 130-125 road win over the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday.
Grimes shot 10-of-19 from the floor and dished six assists, fueling Philadelphia's highest-scoring outing since Jan. 31. Sunday marked Grimes' fifth game with at least 28 points this March.
Eleven of his team-high came in a dominant third quarter that turned the tide in the Sixers' favor. Philadelphia outscored Dallas in the period, 34-18, building a 12-point cushion it held for much of the fourth quarter.
The Sixers led by 14 points midway through the final period, but the Mavericks went on a 16-5 run in the final four-plus minutes to pull within a point with 38 seconds remaining.
Spencer Dinwiddie came off the bench to score 18 points, including the layup that brought Dallas to within a point. The Mavericks could not complete the comeback, however, as Philadelphia hit all six of its free-throw attempts in the final 25 seconds to secure the win.
Dinwiddie had a look at a game-tying 3-pointer with 11 seconds remaining but missed, sending Dallas to its eighth loss in the last nine games.
Ricky Council IV posted a double-double for Philadelphia with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Jalen Hood-Schifino, Jeff Dowtin Jr. and Oshae Brissett scored 19, 14 and 13 points off the bench.
Guerschon Yabusele finished with 14 points and six rebounds, getting the start at center for the Sixers, and was one of four Philadelphia players with two steals along with Grimes, Brissett and Justin Edwards, who also scored 10 points.
P.J. Washington led Dallas with game-highs of 29 points and 12 rebounds. Klay Thompson scored 21 points, shooting 3-of-7 from 3-point range. Max Christie, who scored 18 points off the bench, shot 4-of-6 from long distance.
The rest of the Mavericks were just 3-of-21 from outside.
