The NBA fined Dallas Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd $35,000 on Monday for public criticism of the officials and using profane language during a media interview.
Kidd's remarks came after the Mavericks' 111-107 road loss to the Houston Rockets on Saturday.
Kidd was upset at the referees for not calling a foul on Mavericks rookie Cooper Flagg's drive to the basket late in the game. Flagg missed a layup that would have tied the score with 25 seconds left.
'I saw a foul,' Kidd said. '(The officials) were awful tonight. The referees were unacceptable. It's a foul, and he needs to be at the free throw line. Now, does he make both? That's up to the player, but the referees did not do their job. They were terrible.'
Flagg, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, finished with 34 points and 12 rebounds.
