The NBA fined the Atlanta Hawks' Mouhamed Gueye and the Minnesota Timberwolves' Naz Reid $35,000 each on Wednesday for their roles in an on-court altercation during Minnesota's 138-116 victory on Monday in Minneapolis.
The Timberwolves were leading 106-97 when Gueye, a third-year forward, committed a defensive foul by pushing Reid from behind. Reid, a seventh-year center/forward, approached Gueye and the players aggressively grabbed each other's jerseys.
Both players were whistled for technical fouls and ejected.
Gueye finished with 10 points and seven rebounds in 20 minutes as a reserve, while Reid contributed seven points, six rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block in 21 minutes.
