Canada captain Sidney Crosby accumulated three points in a 10-2 rout of France on Sunday to become the country's all-time leading scorer among NHL players at the Olympics.
Crosby's total sits at 16 after he had one goal and two assists in the round-robin contest at the Milan Cortina Games. He passed Jarome Iginla (14).
Crosby tied Iginla with a first-period assist on a goal by Devon Toews and then passed him in the second when he assisted on Cale Makar's power-play goal. Crosby scored his goal late in the second period to make it 6-1.
The Pittsburgh Penguins' captain has two goals and seven points in Italy.
Connor McDavid of the Edmonton Oilers had his seventh assist of the Olympics, which ties for second-most by an NHL player at a single Olympics. Saku Koivu (Finland) holds the record of eight, accomplished in both 1998 and 2006.
McDavid had three points against France, including his second goal of these Olympics.
This is the sixth Olympics featuring NHL players.
Canada won Group A to reach the quarterfinals.
