The Minnesota Vikings are open to trading outside linebacker Jonathan Greenard as they deal with salary cap issues, according to multiple reports on Tuesday.
Greenard is due to make $19 million in each of the next two seasons to complete a four-year, $76 million deal.
Greenard's salary isn't fully guaranteed. If he is on the Vikings roster on the fifth day of the new league year, $4 million of his salary will reportedly become guaranteed.
Greenard, 28, spent his first four NFL seasons with the Houston Texans, including a breakout 2023 season in which he registered a career-best 12.5 sacks.
He exited as a free agent and signed with Minnesota. He excelled in his first season with the Vikings with 12 sacks and earned Pro Bowl honors.
But last season, he had just three sacks in 12 games before he underwent season-ending shoulder surgery in December.
The Vikings reportedly will move on from running back Aaron Jones and defensive tackle Javon Hargrave, also due to cap purposes.
