The Buffalo Bills are releasing cornerback Taron Johnson and wideout Curtis Samuel, according to multiple reports Friday.
Parting ways with Johnson, who turns 30 in July, reportedly will free up $8.67 million in salary cap space.
The team will save another $6 million in cap space by cutting Samuel, who turns 30 in August.
Johnson started 87 games over the past eight seasons with the Bills, including eight of his 13 games in 2025.
He has 572 tackles, eight sacks, eight forced fumbles and six interceptions (with two touchdowns) in 113 games. He was a second-team All-Pro selection in 2023.
Johnson signed a three-year, $30.75 million extension in March 2024 with $17.82 million in guaranteed money.
The Bills drafted Johnson in the fourth round in 2018, the same year they got quarterback Josh Allen with the No. 7 overall pick.
Samuel struggled with injuries in 2025 and finished with seven catches for 81 yards and a touchdown in six games.
A second-round draft pick by Carolina in 2017, Samuel has 355 receptions for 3,717 yards and 24 TDs in 111 career games (60 starts) with the Panthers (2017-20), Washington Commanders (2021-23) and Bills.
