Jackson Blake scored two third-period goals and the Carolina Hurricanes defeated the Oilers 6-3 in Edmonton on Friday night.
Nikolaj Ehlers scored his fifth goal in three games and added an assist for the Hurricanes, who have won seven of their last eight. K'Andre Miller recorded three assists and Frederik Andersen made 13 saves.
Zach Hyman scored twice for the Oilers, who have lost six of their past eight games. Tristan Jarry made 26 saves.
Hyman gave the Oilers a 1-0 lead at 10:43 of the first period. A stretch pass from Connor McDavid sent Hyman in on a breakaway and he lifted a backhand shot over Andersen for his 26th goal of the season.
Carolina took the lead with two goals in 46 seconds.
Shayne Gostisbehere tied it 1-1 at 11:20, scoring on a slap shot from the high slot off a pass from Seth Jarvis. Ehlers gave the Hurricanes a 2-1 lead at 12:06 when his wrist shot from the right point eluded Jarry.
Jordan Martinook made it 3-1 at 1:37 of the second period when he knocked in his own rebound at the left post after a behind-the-back pass from Ehlers behind the net.
Vasily Podkolzin brought the Oilers within 3-2 at 3:20 by grabbing a loose puck, skating through the left circle, and firing over Andersen's shoulder from a difficult angle along the goal line.
Blake increased the lead to 4-2 at 7:32 of the third period during a delayed penalty. With the extra attacker out and one Oiler playing without his broken stick, Blake scored on a one-timer from the left circle off a pass from Miller.
Hyman pulled the Oilers back within one at 11:43. Leon Draisaitl drove the length of the ice and sent a backhand pass to Hyman, who scored on a one-timer from the slot on a power play.
Jordan Staal scored into an empty net with 1:21 remaining to make it 5-3 and Blake added his second goal of the period with 29 seconds left for the 6-3 final.
