Portland Thorns forward Sophia Wilson is set to return to the U.S. Women's National Team roster for the first time since giving birth to her daughter.
Wilson, 25, and her husband, NFL wide receiver Michael Wilson, became parents in September 2025. She last appeared for the USWNT in October 2024.
The 26-player American roster was announced Wednesday for three friendlies this month against Japan, currently ranked fifth in the FIFA world rankings (the U.S. is ranked No. 2 behind Spain).
Wilson has scored 24 goals in 58 caps with the USWNT, winning the SheBelieves Cup three times and earning a gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Also returning to the roster are Gotham FC defender Tierna Davidson and Kansas City Current winger Michelle Cooper. Both are coming back from injuries.
