The Toronto Blue Jays reinstated Addison Barger from the 10-day injured list Saturday and optioned fellow outfielder Yohendrick Pinango to Triple-A Buffalo.
Barger, 26, has not played since April 5 because of sprains in both ankles. He was just 1-for-19 to open the season in eight games after hitting 21 homers with 74 RBIs in 135 games last season, then batting .367 with three home runs and nine RBIs in 17 postseason games.
Barger was in the Toronto lineup, playing right field and batting second, for Saturday's home game against the Los Angeles Angels.
Since making his major league debut in 2024, Barger is a career .224 hitter with 28 home runs and 104 RBIs in 212 games for the Blue Jays.
Pinango, 24, made his major league debut April 26 and was batting .423 with a double and four RBIs in 10 games.
