The Atlanta Hawks and head coach Quin Snyder have agreed to a multi-year contract extension.
The team announced the deal on Monday but did not release the contract terms.
The Hawks (46-36) finished first in the Southeast Division this season for the first time since the 2020-21 season. They lost to the New York Knicks in six games in the first round of the playoffs.
Despite trading four-time All-Star guard Trae Young to the Washington Wizards in January, the Hawks won 19 of their final 24 games in the regular season.
'Quin has been a phenomenal leader for our team, and extending his contract reflects our commitment to stability and sustained growth as we build toward high-level success,' said Onsi Saleh, Atlanta's president of basketball operations. 'Over the past three seasons and amid an evolving roster, we've seen clear, measurable progress, which is a testament to the culture he's established and the leadership he brings every day. He has created an environment where our players are challenged, supported, and empowered to grow, and that focus on player development has elevated our entire program.'
Snyder, 59, is 132-135 through three seasons with the Hawks. His career record in the NBA is 504-399, which includes eight seasons with the Utah Jazz (2014-22). He became head coach of the Hawks in 2023.
Snyder is the first NBA head coach to guide back-to-back Most Improved Player winners in Nickel Alexander-Walker (2025-26) and Dyson Daniels (2024-25).
